Being a force for social good
Our CSI Ambition for 2018 is to improve access to exceptional quality healthcare for the communities in which we operate by investing in centres of excellence, ensuring we impact 1,000,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries by 2018.
Furthermore, we have sought opportunities of leveraging off other functions within the business so as to create as much value for and enhance the sustainability of the community projects we support. An example of this is the integration of enterprise development into CSI.
In delivering on our core purpose, we aim to play a leadership role and impact society positively in six key areas:
- A values-based culture of opportunity and innovation
- Strengthen the healthcare system and expand access to care
- Improve our clients’ financial security and protect them through innovative products and services
- Use the science of behavioural economics to drive positive behaviour change
- Promote a thriving society
- Our environmental responsibility
In line with Discovery’s core purpose, which is to make people healthier and to enhance and protect their lives, the vision of the Discovery Fund is to improve individuals’ quality of life through the provision of primary health care services in indigent communities that do not have access to mainstream health care.
